WHAT IS COLON HYDROTHERAPY?

 

​Colon hydrotherapy is a holistic procedure that involves the introduction of purified warm water gently into the large intestine or colon for internal cleansing using FDA registered equipment.

WHERE IS THE COLON?

The colon is located at the end portion of the digestive tract. It ranges about 5.5ft to 6ft in length. Its main job is to conserve water in the body and eliminate waste.

IS COLON HYDROTHERAPY SAFE?

Absolutely. Each client receives their own disposable speculum for disposal after each use. The water is warm and purified to match your body temperature and the equipment is certified by the FDA. The clients dignity is preserves and honored by use of a clean and private room.

WILL COLON HYDROTHERAPY DEPLETE MY ELECTROLYTES?

You may lose very little electrolytes during a colonic. You can replenish your electrolytes with natural fruit juices such as coconut water.  Some people prefer gatorade.  Others consume herbal teas after their sessions.  A study on electrolyte depletion, Effects of Colon Hydrotherapy on Serum Electrolytes John R. Collins, ND*, Paul Millman, N.D., Mara Katlap, B.A, confirms there is no depletion in serum electrolytes in patients with no history of bowel pathology or other fundamental pathologies, after receiving colon hydrotherapy. 

HOW LONG IS A SESSION?

A session is about 45 minutes long. Some people get a colonic during their lunch break or on their way to or from work. If you come into the center with the required paperwork (required only at your very first session) completed, then the process can be completed in on hour.  

IS THE PROCEDURE PAINFUL?

The procedure is very relaxing and calming. Clients sometimes entertain themselves with iPods, CDs, Crossword puzzles, books, magazines, and some talk on their cell phones. Others view their IPads or Laptops.  The water is very warm so it compliments the body’s temperature. The most anyone will feel is the natural urge to have a bowel movement.  Some people do experience cramping that may feel like diarrhea. There’s relaxing music, candles and a calm, serene overall atmosphere.

WILL COLON HYDROTHERAPY DEPLETE MY GOOD BACTERIA?

The water will flush out friendly and bad bacteria.  The fact is that the session will remove the bad bacteria to make room for the friendly bacteria to grow.  And while some friendly bacteria is lost, you can replenish your friendly bacteria with acidophilus, bifidous, supplements or organic yogurt containing probiotics. You can purchase acidophilus, and bifidous at your local health food store.  We also carry a high quality brand. 

HOW MUCH OF THE COLON IS CLEANSED DURING A TREATMENT?

It is possible to cleanse the full length of the colon during a treatment. It depends on the toxicity level of the clients body. Remember, every one's body is different, and every ones body is different every day as our bodies change daily. 

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE NEEDED?

This solely depends on the individual. There is no pre-set minimum. Some people need only 3 whereas an avid meat eater may need 10 or 12. A certified therapists will be able to help you determine. Most of us have been toxic for a very long time. So, it will take some time to remove the waste and poisons from the system.

IS IT OKAY TO HAVE A TREATMENT DURING MY MENSTRUAL CYCLE?

Yes. In fact, it’s an effective time for a treatment since the body is already cleansing. Your flow will not interfere with the success of the treatment.

IS THERE ANY POSSIBILITY OF CONTAMINATION FROM PRIOR USE OF THE COLON HYDROTHERAPY EQUIPMENT?

No. Modern colon hydrotherapy equipment utilizes pre-sterilized, disposable hoses and speculums. These disposables are used only one during a single therapy session. All equipment is cleaned and highly sanitized using hospital grade disinfectants and cleansers.

WHO NEEDS COLON HYDROTHERAPY?

Everyone from the most avid meat eater to the strictest vegetarian. It is believed that a lot of accumulated waste in our colon stems from processed foods and polluted air that we’ve consumed through out the years thereby producing sticky waste in our large intestines that results from fluids being absorbed during the digestive process.

SHOULD I SEE MY DOCTOR BEFORE MY SESSION?

If you are concerned about your health and or colon you should consult a doctor. If you are diagnosed with diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis, crohn’s desease, severe hemorroids, rectal or intestinal tumors, you would need a doctors prescription for a colon hydrotherapy session. Professionally administered colon hydrotherapy is safe. A healthy person does not require a doctors prescription.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE FIRST TREATMENT?

Drink plenty of water a day before the treatment and refrain from eating at least two hours prior to a cleanse. The water will help hydrate the colon for better elimination. Try to maintain a great spirit and good attitude. One key to a most successful colon cleanse is total relaxation.

WHAT WILL I EXPERIENCE AFTER A COLON HYDROTHERAPY SESSION?

Most people feel a sense of calm and a lot of energy and vibrancy. A small few clients experience a sense of sadness and tiredness. This may be due to the toxins in the system that have been awakened. Drinking plenty of water and natural juices usually helps.

CAN IT CONTINUE MY REGULAR ACTIVITIES AFTER A CLEANSE?

Absolutely. You can work just as you would after a regular bowel movement.

WHEN SHOULD I GET STARTED?

Now. The sooner the better. It is amazing how light you will feel after the procedure. You need to maintain healthful eating habits including lots of fruit juices, whole grains, vegetables, and plenty of water. At least one colon cleanse per month will help maintain a healthy lifestyle. Some clients colonic once per week or once every two weeks on aggressive weight loss programs.
