V-Steam aka Yoni Steam aka Womb Steam, Bajos, Pelvic Floor steams, or Vaginal Steam Baths is an historical therapy, proven even through ancient times. It's not new. We now offer the vaginal steam service here at Infinity Health & Wellness Center as a possible way to relieve pain and inflammation, menstrual cramps, fibroids pains and more. It is a relaxing, almost spiritual, seated experience where we use hot water and selected herbs to softly cleanse and detox your pelvic floor. The heat from the boiling water relaxes the vaginal muscles while the steam generated are naturaly absorbed through the skin and mucosal linings.
This ancient healing practice has been used for hundreds of years. The two primary herbs utilized in the treatment are Mugwort and Warm Wood. other herbs are used as well.
Mugwort contains natural antibiotics and anti-fungal agents which is said to help maintain internal health as well as keep your skin looking young and healthy. Mugwort leaves and flower buds are boiled and steamed and applied to a specific area of the body (perineum) for detoxification. The steam from the Mugwort is then absorbed into the body through the pores of the skin, most strongly effecting the site of absorption.
Mugwort, according to the American Cancer Society, helps treat stomach and intestinal disorders, including cramps, but it has also been used for menopausal and menstrual complaints, along with infertility. The herb stimulates the production of hormones in order to maintain uterine health, and protects the uterus from ulcers and tumors.
Wormwood, similar to mugwort, has been used to aid digestive disorders and immune system strength, while regulating a woman’s menstrual cycle and hormones. The herb is also considered to be antimicrobial and a sedative that can detoxify the uterus.
The combination of these herbs accompanied with some steam, cleanses, tones and nourishes the cervix, uterus, and vaginal tissues. The V-Steam stimulates the production of hormones to maintain good uterine health.
